GETTING PRAISE FROM MANOLO BLAHNIK AND WINNING THE MANOLO BLAHNIK TWO YEARS IN A ROW, ENOUGH SAID. HER SHOES ARE SCULPTED MASTERPIECES MADE TO BE WORN AND LET THE NATURAL BEATUY SHINE! THIS PEWTER CUTOUT WEDGE IS STUNNING...

THE ROW-AT THE FOREFRONT OF BOHO COUTURE

BESIDES ADORING MARY KATE AND ASHLEY OLSEN, I AM ALWAYS ANTICIPATING WHAT THEY WILL SEND DOWN THE RUNWAY. THIS FALL COLLECTION WAS NEEDLESS TO SAY SIMPLE, CHIC AND DEFINITIVELY THEM! LEATHER T-SHIRTS, SLOUCHY TUXEDO JACKETS AND OBVIOUSLY MUTED COLORS WERE PART OF THE SHOW. THE ROW IS AN EFFORTLESSLY EDGY LINE THAT PUTS FORTH WEARABLE YET TRENDSETTING PIECES...TAKE A LOOK!!!

YOU CAN SEE FOR YOURSELF THAT THE TWINS ARE SIMPLY BRILLIANT!

SHOE DESIGNER NICHOLAS KIRKWOOD MAKES ME CRY WITH THE MASTERPIECES HE PUTS FORTH. WITH HIS INNOVATION AND SHEER LUXURIOUSNESS EVERY SHOE IS TRENDSETTING. THIS WEDGE HAPPENS TO BE MY FAVORITE...ALTHOUGH FROM S/S 08 IT IS ON POINT WITH EVERYTHING GOING ON IN FASHION NOW. TWISTING CLASSICS AND "EDING" THEM UP! THIS SHOES LOOKS LIKE A DANCE FLOOR ON THE BOTTOM...CALLING OUT TO ALL FASHIONISTAS! COULD THIS BE A SIGN?! EVERY WOMAN SHOULD HAVE A STUNNING PAIR OF WEDGES.

CALZONCINI BREVE!!

NEEDLESS TO SAY, I AM NOT THE BIGGEST FAN OF MENS SHORTS. THEY TEND TO BE ARCHAIC IN THE SENSE THAT THERE HAS BEEN NO MODERNIZATION OF THIS STAPLE PIECE IN A WHILE. BOTTEGA VENETA IMPRESSED ME THIS SEASON WITH THERE "SHORT SHORTS" FOR MEN. I MEAN WHO DOESNT WANT TO SHOW OFF SOME SKIN. THE LEATHER SHORTS TO LEFT ARE MY FAVORITE BY FAR!! THEY ADD THAT EDGE I LOVE TO SPICE UP ANY OUTFIT WITHOUT DOING ANYTHING DRASTIC...

MY NEW BURBERRY CUFF-CLASSIC EDGE

I recently purchased this cuff online from Burberry. Its a copper colored bangle with pyramid studs all around. This bracelet is of the best quality and is very heavy...could actually hurt someone! It retails for $250 and worth every penny. I love the copper color as well, it just adds something different and mixes well with almost any color type. Here a few pics...

It sort of shimmers in the light...which makes it a bit glamorous! You can pair this with a bunch of other bangles or alone for a simplistic edge. Great addition for any accessory lover! <3

CHANEL COUTURE S/S 2010-11

 This years Chanel Couture show was my favorite yet! The masterpieces that came down the runway just blew me away and not only because the designs were innovative but well structured and the fabric choice were brilliant. Here a just a few of my favorties...

Left- I am in love with the menswear

inspired tie paired with a strking white couture dress. With shoulder

accents it adds a sense of profession. 

Right- The sheered sleeves on this

dress are embellished to perfection. This dress has a classic shape but all the attention to detail makes it 
modernized and a great fun addition
to any couture closet.

Above- Do I even have to say why I'm

dying over this...i guess so. The scrunched

and almost ruffled bottom with the striking

shoulders make this so chic and wearable

to any event. Dress to impress...always!

The finale dress below on the right took my breath away! I have never seen a "wedding"dress like this...ever. The floral patterned sleeves add to the simplistic luxury approach Lagerfeld had in mind. Incorporating a jumpsuit silhouette was nothing but genius and every time I see Chanel I tend to want to shed a tear!...and most likely do.

OLIVER PEOPLES SUNGLASSES FOR BALMAIN-NEW FAVORITE!

I am in love with these Balmain I sunglasses!! The simple shape with oversized frames and the frame detailing all around makes these very chic and very wearable at the same time. Pick yours up for $595.

CHRONICLES OF NEVER-ONCE AROUND THE MOON

 

These gorgeous ankle boots are from one of my favorite brands, Chronicles of Never.  These white painted leather boots are a contemporary take on the classic and are done perfectly! The rough white along with the classic shape and paneled sides give this boot a distinct edginess and are perfect for fashion's young trendsetters. These retail for $350 and also come in rough black leather. I much prefer the white!! JOSEPH QUARTANA, STEVE SANG AND JOHN DEMAS, time, OWNERS OF SEVEN, envisioned this botutique to be a modern "machine" that carries only the most unique and memorable pieces. this boutique is nothing short of amazing, its an art gallery full of the most forward thinking designers and their apparel in the world. when you walk in you will not leave not seeing or learning something you had not beforehand and hopefully you will be leaving with a nice little or quite large goodie bag!! this store is not for the feigny of heart in regards to fashion, only risktakers and trendsetters allowed! any fashionista needs a piece of art from seven in their wardrobe...here are a few of my favorite pieces!

This work of art is fabulous in every way...and with this football inspired collection any man can make his wardrobe a bit sportier! Who knew...sport chic may just be the next big trend?!

NEW FAV TREND-SPIKES AND STUD A.K.A ROCKER CHIC!

Ever since Lady Gaga emerged as a major force in music she has translated her fame in the fashion industry. For a long time fashion lacked chic pieces that are also seen as grungy. Stores such as Bess and OAK in NYC are great places to find garments specific to this trend. Mixing these fashion forward rocker inspired designs can spice up any outfit and get you noticed! Needless to say even classic designers like Burberry are partaking in this trend...

From the Burberry Porosum collection in 2008. This has to be my favorite cuff ever made...you could kill someone while wearing this! Made out of nickel, this cuff is probably as painful as it looks.

These are just two of my favorite cuffs from burberry. Below, is a completely studded cuff in silver and above  is a simple black and silver cuff with raised studs. These could be paired together for a more "hardcore" look or can  be worn separately for a sophisticated edge. Burberry has stuck to its roots but with an added edge they have taken the label to another level! Also above is a studded leather jacket from one of my favorite stores in soho, Bess! This jacket is vintage and full on studded and of the upmost quality. for around $2,000 you can pick one up on Lafayette Street.

GIVENCY-FALL/WINTER 2010-2011

Riccardo Tisci's brilliance is never questioned and his most recent collection for Givenchy was sheer genius! I have to say that I am ALMOST speechless as this has to be one of the top three collections shown in Paris Fashion Week. With jeweled scarlet gloves, leather front and lace backed miniskirts what is not to love? The way he constructed these garments is very reminiscent of Hemlut Lang gone Parisian couture, to me there could not be a more fabulous combination! Givenchy is sheer perfection and a reckoning force on top of the fashion world. Here are some of my favs...

My main man, Riccardo Tisci next to what I say is the chicest look from the runway. The red gloves along with the white collar make this outfit. Not to mention the elbow sleeves...speak for themselves!

Ostrich feathers and glammed up jeweled gloves! I mean, c'mon Riccardo...you are a master crafstman!

Lace at its perfection...when done well it makes any garment a timeless piece of art!

STYLE ADVICE-MINIMIALISM AT ITS FINEST

I may not be an expert in fashion(not yet at least) but coming from someone who explores many different trends and is not afraid to take risks I would say the best advice I can give someone on styling is to be true to yourself and never let the clothes wear you! If you don't know which route to take go for the simplistic approach to fashion and you will never be disappointed. Take a look at these photos from Jil Sander, one of my personal favorite for minimalist and simplistic fashion!

As you can see the silhouettes and clean lines Jil Sander is known for are very modern and          effortless...just as style should be! For women or men Sander consistently brings minimalist fashion to another level.

BALENCIAGA ALWAYS SHUTS IT DOWN

Year after year I find myself awing over the collections Balenciaga turns out on the runway, the designs for the most recent Paris Fashion Week were nothing less than spectacular. This collection seemed to be very futuristic yet still hold true to Balenciagas core. Being a leader in setting trends for the rest of the year, Balenciaga never ceases to amaze me...take a look at these "building block" heels!

You can see the classic shape of the heel but it is take to another level with all the intricate almost "lego" like structure of the heel. I am not a huge fan of the color green but this almost light mint is perfection.

The top pic is one of my favorite menswear outfits that came down the runway in Paris. The black and white make this look classic and paired with these stunning white leather gloves and interesting neckline it instantly give its that edge needed for today's market. I think I can speak for everyone in the fashion industry when I say that Balenciaga never lets me down!

THE BONE COLLECTOR! DSQUARED2 TURNED ARCHAEOLOGIST...

Dean and Dan Caten, designers of DSQUARED2 had something different in mind for this collection. They spent countless hours at the American Museum of Natural History studying the history of the T-Rex and various dinosaurs. Now who would have thought...history comes into play with fashion? Just goes to show you that fashion incorporates a little bit everything...even when you least expect it! This collection took my breath away because it intertwines all of the trends happening in fashion right now with the edginess of the leather and bone along with the simple sophistication of a platform bootie...I DIE! Not to mention, superstar Alicia Keys wore a pair of these bone heels for her opening performance for the FIFA World Cup. Well let me go dig out a pair of these for myself...

As you can see this bag even earns the thumbs up from the Fame Monster herself, Lady Gaga! This bag is the epitome of rocker chic and just shows how a classic luxury brand like YSL can keep up with the emerging trends. Andrew in Wonderland

Hey guys, thanks for checking out my new blog called Andrew in Wonderland! I have always believed fashion to be my wonderland and also the wonderland to the world. A wonderland is a world of creativity and beauty with no boundaries or limits. One is free to let there mind roam beyond the normal into a realm of endless possibilities. It is my joy in life and I hope to share my posh finds with all of you.

I started this blog in hopes of reaching out to others who are also spurred on by the mesmerizing designs of today's billion dollar industry. One day I hope to be a stylist/working for Balenciaga. For now, I am a 19 year old business management student at Baruch College located in the lower east side of the Big Apple. I have interned for Haute Hippie/10Eleven Showroom as well as new and upcoming designer, Wes Gordon. I would say my personal style is a mix of contemporary yet refined with what I call a hint of darkness!!
